The Shipyard specializes in all types of commercial and government vessels and barges, as well as both on-site and off-site topside work, steel fabrication and emergency repairs of every kind. The company has been in continuous business for 119 years.
Company History
The Great Lakes Group is a full-service marine transportation organization made up of a “Group” of companies operating on the Great Lakes. The Great Lakes Towing Company provides harbor assist, cargo transportation, and ice breaking services. Great Lakes Shipyard specializes in ship maintenance and repair, new vessel construction, and custom fabrication. Founded in 1899, The Great Lakes Towing Company is now celebrating its 120th year in business.
