About the role
DNV Australia is seeking a Maritime Surveyor to join our Perth team on a full time basis, supporting class services to shipyards, government, vessel owners and operators and other maritime industry suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:
- Survey of vessels during newbuilding stage with particular focus on governmental vessels (Defence and Border Force related).
- Survey of vessels in operation with particular focus on governmental vessels (Defence and Border Force related).
- Certification of materials and components manufactured by local Perth industry.

About you
Position Qualifications/Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering from a recognized institute or Class-I Marine Engineer. certificate of competency or equivalent.
- Ideally a minimum 5 years of experience in the maritime and classification industry with both survey and audit experience.
- Flexibility in travelling and solid willingness to take unscheduled job calls when required.
- Strong customer service orientation and proven record of managing maritime clients.
- Good understanding of class and statutory requirements.
- Proven ability to effectively manage digitalization and new business opportunities.
- Team player but able to work independently on surveys.
- Physical abilities necessary to perform regular classification functions, including voyage surveys, sea trials and attendance in the anchorage etc.
- Ability to obtain security clearances necessary to work on Australian Defence assets.
- Experience in surveying of aluminium, steel and composite newbuilds will be an advantage but not essential.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
